Julien E. Capers, JD

Julien E. Capers brings nearly 20 years of legal and healthcare industry experience spanning biotechnology, pharmaceutical commercialization, corporate finance, strategic transactions, and intellectual property. Prior to joining Palisade Bio, Mr. Capers served as Senior Vice President, Legal at Vera Therapeutics, where he led legal functions supporting clinical development, corporate governance, financing activities (including approximately $750 million in follow-on equity offerings, and $500 million in strategic debt), and strategic initiatives. His contributions helped Vera successfully develop and launch TRUTAKNA, its product to treat IgA Nephropathy, which recently received FDA approval. Previously, he served as Assistant General Counsel at Zogenix, where he supported U.S. and Japanese commercial operations, including for the FDA-approved epilepsy treatment FINTEPLA, and contributed to Zogenix’s $1.9 billion acquisition by UCB in 2022. Earlier in his career, he held legal positions at Establishment Labs and CareDx and practiced at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, advising life sciences companies on intellectual property, technology transactions, and commercial matters. Mr. Capers holds a BS in Biological Sciences from Stanford University and a JD from the University of California, Davis School of Law.
